BREAKING: Yagba West Assembly Aspirant, Temidayo John Tunde, Withdraws from Kogi State House of Assembly Race After Leaders’ Consultation…Says Unity, Leadership and Egbe Progress Must Come First

In a major political development that may reshape conversations within Yagba West Constituency II (Egbe), State House of Assembly aspirant, media entrepreneur, and community advocate, Temidayo John Tunde, has officially withdrawn from the race for the Kogi State House of Assembly, Yagba West Constituency II seat.

The decision followed extensive consultations, strategic meetings, and deep reflections with leaders, mentors, and critical stakeholders.

Temidayo John Tunde, widely known for his contributions to community storytelling, youth engagement, and the promotion of Egbe Mekun through media and cultural advocacy, said the decision was guided by responsibility, political maturity, and commitment to the collective interest of the people.

According to him, politics must remain a platform for service, development, and shared progress rather than personal ambition.

Following the collective advice and wisdom of his leaders and mentors, the young aspirant disclosed that he has chosen to step aside from the Kogi State House of Assembly race for Yagba West Constituency II, describing the decision as a strategic move taken in the interest of unity, political harmony, and the future of Egbe.

Speaking on the development, Temidayo stated:

"Leadership is not always about insisting on personal ambition. Sometimes, true leadership demands sacrifice, restraint, and the courage to place collective progress above personal aspiration."

Though withdrawing from the contest, he maintained that his commitment to the development and future of Egbe Mekun remains stronger than ever.

For many residents and political observers, Temidayo John Tunde represents more than a political aspirant. Long before politics, he had built a reputation as a media entrepreneur and grassroots mobiliser dedicated to promoting Egbe, documenting its history and culture, and using media as a tool for education and community advancement.

The development is already generating conversations across political circles, with many describing the move as a demonstration of political maturity, loyalty to leadership, and commitment to peace and unity.

As political alignments continue to shape the race for the Kogi State House of Assembly seat representing Yagba West Constituency II (Egbe), one message remains clear from the Temidayo camp:

Idagba soke Egbe Mekun ni koko.
