BREAKING: Former Assembly Aspirant, Temidayo John Tunde, Endorses Hon. Omoniyi Omoye for Yagba West Constituency II…Says Leadership Must Be Guided by Vision, Not Mere Personal Ambition
In what many political observers describe as a significant development within Yagba West Constituency II (Egbe), former Kogi State House of Assembly aspirant, media entrepreneur, and community advocate, Temidayo John Tunde, has officially endorsed Hon. Omoniyi Omoye for the Assembly seat.
The endorsement followed an extensive strategic engagement involving Temidayo John Tunde, his supporters, and Hon. Omoye, where conversations centred on leadership, youth participation, grassroots development, and the future of Egbe and Yagba West.
The development comes weeks after Temidayo John Tunde voluntarily withdrew from the Assembly race following consultations with leaders, mentors, and stakeholders — a decision he had described as one rooted in responsibility, unity, and political maturity.
Addressing the reason behind his endorsement, Temidayo maintained that withdrawing from a contest does not translate to withdrawing from the struggle for community progress.
According to him, politics must rise beyond the narrow walls of personal ambition and become an instrument for collective advancement.
"Too often, politics is mistaken for a personal war of survival. But true leadership is measured not merely by the offices we seek, but by the future we are willing to build. My withdrawal from the race did not represent the end of conviction; rather, it created the opportunity for reflection, consultation, and strategic alignment in the interest of our people."
Following his engagement with Hon. Omoye, Temidayo said he found important areas of shared vision, particularly regarding youth inclusion, accessibility, and development-driven representation.
He described Hon. Omoye as an experienced political actor who understands the realities of grassroots leadership and possesses the readiness to work with diverse interests for the advancement of the constituency.
"Hon. Omoniyi Omoye is not a political apprentice. Experience matters. Vision matters. Accessibility matters. Leadership is not a popularity contest but a responsibility. After our discussions and careful consideration, I am persuaded that supporting a candidate whose priorities align with the aspirations of our people is both politically responsible and morally justified."
Temidayo further stressed that sustainable development should remain superior to partisan loyalty, noting that communities progress when competence and shared purpose take precedence over political labels.
The endorsement is already generating conversations across political and grassroots circles within Yagba West, with observers describing it as a strategic political alignment that may shape the emerging conversation around the Constituency II Assembly race.
