kogi West Seeks the Face of God___________A Simultaneous Prayer for Peace Across the Senatorial District
In a rare moment of unified faith, churches across the seven local government areas of Kogi West Senatorial District held simultaneous prayer sessions today, Thursday, June 19, 2025, under the theme "Kogi West Seeks the Face of God." The interdenominational program, convened by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and sponsored by Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, aimed to invoke divine intervention amid rising insecurity in the region.
At the ECWA Church, Odofin in Lokoja, where Senator Karimi was physically present, the atmosphere was charged with deep spiritual yearning. In his address to the congregation, the senator expressed heartfelt concern for victims of violence and kidnapping in the area, highlighting his ongoing efforts to secure their safety and reintegrate them into their communities.
"Some have suggested consulting traditional diviners, but I choose to seek God," Karimi stated firmly. "As a Christian, I believe in the God who parted the Red Sea and defended His people. He can do the same for Kogi West."
He encouraged believers across the senatorial district to rise in unity and prayer, especially in light of recent tragedies in neighboring states like Benue, where violent attacks have left communities devastated. Karimi stressed that a dual approach—both physical strategies and spiritual solutions—is essential in tackling the menace of insecurity.
The service climaxed with intense intercessory prayers. Senator Karimi was symbolically used as a point of contact, as worshippers lifted their voices to God on behalf of all towns and villages across Kogi West.
Similar scenes unfolded simultaneously in churches at Isanlu, Mopa, Kabba, Koto, Odo Ere, Iyara, and other locations—each congregation crying out for divine mercy, peace, and protection.
This coordinated spiritual initiative marks a powerful moment of unity in the region’s quest for peace and safety. Senator Karimi's faith-forward leadership continues to resonate with the people of Kogi West, reinforcing the belief that with God and collective action, healing and restoration are possible.
